chez_jaeBetween last night and tonight, I read Dead Wrong by Leighann Dobbs. It's the first installment in her "Blackmoore Sisters" mystery series, and it's also the first ebook I've read this year.
Fiona, Morgan, and their younger sisters Celeste and Jolene enjoy a quiet life, living in the family home and working in a sleepy, coastal tourist town. All is going well until Morgan is accused of murdering the local harridan. Fiona vows to prove her sister's innocence, and Jake Cooper, a newcomer to the police force, seems determined to help them. Along the way, the sisters must outwit a sheriff who is bent on pinning the crime on Morgan and sort through a long list of suspects. Added to the mix is their cat, Belladonna, who keeps showing up in mysterious places and pointing them towards clues.
This was a quick, light, simple read, although it was almost too simple. It read almost like a YA book, which is okay, but I was hoping for something more complex. I know I have at least one more of this series loaded on my Kindle, but I'm not anxious to add any of the others. This was average at best.
