On Tuesday, I finished reading Bit the Jackpot by Erin McCarthy. It was the second in her "Vegas Vampires" series. I had thought the author would take up Brittany's story, but instead, she followed Ethan's second in command, Seamus. Seamus meets Cara at a strip club and falls for her. Unfortunately, Cara is killed in a battle between Seamus and some other vampires, and he turns her to save her.
Cara feels overwhelmed and smothered by Seamus, and she struggles to assert her independence. Along the way, both of them are falling in love but too wary to admit it.
Again, the book swerved off on tangents, following subplots of other characters. Overall, however, it was a fun and easy read.
