Between last night and tonight, I read Omega Destined: Billionaire's Secret by Canis Blackfang. Seriously, dude? It was a male/male ebook, featuring Omega Everett who is on his way to meet a potential Alpha mate. The problem is, Everett has never forgotten his first love, childhood crush Trent. Imagine his surprise when he discovers that Trent is the head of security for Alpha Kristoff Zambardo.

The story is told in alternating points-of-view, going from Everett to Trent. For his part, Trent is shocked to see Everett at Zambardo's. He left all those years ago, knowing he had nothing to offer a privileged Omega like Everett. Thrown together now by circumstance, their desire for one another overwhelms their good sense, and Trent and Everett begin a passionate affair.

When Zambardo catches them in the act, Everett promises to mate with him if he allows Trent to go free, not realizing that Zambardo has no intention of honoring his part of the bargain.

The story was okay. There wasn't a lot of character development, because it was more of a novella, but Everett and Trent were likable enough, and I found myself hoping for their HEA. Zambardo was a total, smarmy creep. He gave me the wim-wams. Ha ha! Everett's father was cold and dispassionate, caring more for the family name than he did for his own son. Sound familiar, Potter fans?

Favorite line: There's always a choice.
