Book 43, 2016
Jun. 4th, 2016 12:10 pmJust finished reading The Body in the Bungalow, which was an ebook by AL Jambor. It's the first installment in the "Divine Detective Agency" series.
Nick Dandino is an old-school private eye who runs the Divine Detective Agency in heaven. It's his job to bring peace to those who were murdered by returning to earth to solve the crime. When a young woman named Dee comes to the agency, she cannot even recall how she was murdered, let alone by whom. Based on the facts she provides, Nick returns to the Jersey shore to launch an investigation.
This was a cute, light read. Nick died in the 40's, so his narrative was filled with the vernacular of the era. The mystery was engaging, and the culprit was a surprise.
Favorite line: Mothers-in-law. I never had one, but I never missed one, either.
Four stars:
