Book 72, 2015
Dec. 9th, 2015 09:16 pmOn my afternoon break, I finished reading Meow is for Murder by Linda O Johnston. It's part of her "Pet-Sitter" mystery series, featuring attorney/pet-sitter Kendra Ballantyne.
When the snarky ex-wife of Kendra's boyfriend asks Kendra to pet-sit her Bengal cats while she leaves town to avoid a stalker, Kendra reluctantly agrees. Upon Amanda's return, however, her stalker is found dead in her house, and now she's the primary suspect in his murder. She asks Kendra to help solve the mystery, and in return, Amanda agrees to cease all contact with Jeff. Kendra takes on the task, but soon finds her beloved dog the target of the killer's threats. Now, Kendra will stop at nothing to put the murderer behind bars.
I think I've read one of these books before. They're okay, but not my favorites. For one thing, Kendra is always flitting to and fro and can never seem to leave her damned dog at home. Really? She pet-sits, she goes to her office at a law firm, she meets with clients, she has lunch with contacts, she atttends a meeting of pet-sitters. I mean, when does she have time to wipe her ass? Plus, now she's ambivalent about her relationship, and I'm just...geez, lady.
