Book 7, 2015
Jan. 17th, 2015 11:09 pmI just finished reading Jenna Black's Dark Descendant, which is the first in her series about Nikki Glass, a private investigator who learns she is immortal.
Nikki has always been good at tracking down people, but she never guessed her talent was literally god-given until a bizarre chain of events shakes up her worldview and changes her life. Soon, she finds herself caught in the crossfire of a cold war between two factions of immortals. Nikki would like to wash her hands of all of it, until a threat to her sister forces her to choose sides.
The book is labeled urban fantasy, but it could correctly be called dark fantasy. Nevertheless, it was a gripping story. I'm eager to read more in the series now.
Four stars:
★★★★
