Book 22, 2014
Mar. 16th, 2014 09:23 pmEarlier this evening, I completed the book Threadbare Gypsy Souls by TA Chase. I've read and enjoyed other books by this author, but this was not her best effort.
The premise was interesting: Nash Rhodes is leaving his life in a biker gang behind and traveling from TN to CA to visit his mother. Along the way, he makes a stop in the small town of Fallen Creek WY. When he defends the owner of the local bar from one of her employees, Nash is drawn into small town politics and intrigue.
Cullen O'Murphy has lived on a ranch outside of Fallen Creek for four years, which is a record for him. He's a lone wolf (literally!) who tends to move around. Cullen avoids the local pack of shifters as much as possible, even though he's clearly an alpha who could take the pack over.
When Nash and Cullen meet, sparks fly.
Hot, yeah? Well, it was, but there were so many inconsistencies in the story that I just couldn't enjoy it as much as I had hoped to.
( Spoilers, ahoy! )
The budding relationship between Nash and Cullen was entertaining, and the sex scenes were yummy. I wish I could have enjoyed the book more, but too many things occurred to throw me out of it.
Three stars:
★★★
