Book 1, 2012
Jan. 15th, 2012 05:25 pmI finally finished reading My Favorite Witch by Lisa Plumley. I had begun it at home, gotten bored with it, and allowed it to languish. Eventually, I took it to work to read on my breaks, and the plot began to pick up to the point that I brought the book home with me on Friday to finish it.
Dayna Sterling is a failed witch who has been living among humans. She is dragged back to her home town for obligatory witch-training by handsome tracer TJ McAllister. The story follows Dayna as she attempts to harness her magical abilities, and it also follows TJ who is attempting to locate the witch who has been prophesied to help quell a dangerous uprising among the witches at Covenhaven. Naturally, the witch he seeks is closer than he thinks...
The book was lighthearted and fun, if a bit too dragged out in places. The author left room for more in this verse, should she choose to write about some of the secondary characters. Not sure I'd buy/read them, however.
