Writer's Block: See the music

[Error: unknown template qotd]

'Take On Me' by A-Ha, hands down. By today's standards, it wasn't all that great, but it was quite impressive for its time.

I also loved music videos by Duran Duran, Def Leppard, ZZ Top and Michael Jackson.

You know, this was the first video I thought of when I saw the writer's block, though I wouldn't say it was my favorite of all time.

The problem I have with videos, those rare ones, that are still made, is that there's no plot in them. I loved the Kinks "Come Dancing", and Joe Jackson's "Stepping Out" and "Breaking Us In Two". I guess I just like a story with my song.

Ahh... the good old days!

I know! Today's vids don't really tell a "story" any more. It's just lip-syncing and dancing and some concert footage. Gaga is trending more toward story-telling, however.

I just long for the days when MTV actually had videos.
